General overview:
The
6.343 mile long Corinth Canal bisects the Isthmus of
Corinth, thereby making passage from the Ionian
through to the Aegean and vice versa inestimably
shorter. The minimum width of the canal at sea
level is 24.6m, with a bottom width of 21m at 8m
depth.
